August 15, 2019 - The REACH NOW mobility app now offers even more flexibility. In addition to Carsharing and Bikesharing, Ride-Hailing, and in some cities public transport, e-scooters from TIER Mobility are now available. With REACH NOW, the moovel Group offers the first MaaS platform ever with five different, fully integrated mobility options.
How can the e-scooters be booked?
The nearest e-scooter can be easily found and activated via the REACH NOW app. The activation fee for unlocking the scooter is 1€, then the trip costs 15 cents per minute. Payment and deactivation are also done via the app.
Where are the electric scooters available?
The e-scooters from TIER can be booked in 15 German cities via REACH NOW: Berlin, Bonn, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt am Main, Hamburg, Hannover, Heidelberg, Ingolstadt, Cologne, Ludwigshafen, Mannheim, Mainz, Munich, Münster, and Wiesbaden.
What do I have to consider?
The same rules apply to e-scooters as cycling. This means that cycling is allowed on cycle paths as well as on the right-hand side of the road, but not on the sidewalk. Due to the distribution of the fleet in the entire business area of a city, an e-scooter is always within reach. Within this area, they can be parked at any location. Of course only where they are not in the way. The scooters are limited to a speed of 20 km/h, whereby the speed is automatically reduced to 5 km/h in the red areas outside the business area.
Another provider: hive
FREE NOW, another joint venture between Daimler Mobility and the BMW Group, has also integrated e-scooters into its portfolio with hive since the beginning of this year. Currently, the micro-mobility service is offered in Lisbon, Vienna, Paris, Athens, Warsaw, and Wroclaw. Further European cities are to follow.
