December 07, 2020 - Starting today, users of SHARE NOW can book a Mercedes-Benz Rent car via the SHARE NOW app. The pilot project marks the beginning of the cooperation between SHARE NOW, the European market leader in free-floating car sharing with three million customers, and the premium car rental company of Mercedes-Benz.
During a six-month test phase, customers of SHARE NOW in Berlin have the opportunity to rent other premium models from Mercedes-Benz Rent in addition to the free-floating models from the SHARE NOW fleet. During the pilot phase, customers will have the models Mercedes GLB, Mercedes GLC and the E-Class at their service.
The vehicles are booked digitally via the SHARE NOW app, where potential customers can select their desired car and the rental period. The booked vehicle can then be picked up quickly and easily at various Mercedes-Benz locations in Berlin, such as Mercedes-Welt am Salzufer in Berlin-Charlottenburg. In order to guarantee a safe driving experience for users, each vehicle is thoroughly cleaned before delivery. With this project, SHARE NOW primarily meets the needs of its customers. Europe's pioneer in free-floating car sharing is reacting to the particularly high demand for premium models for longer trips.
The current figures have shown us that our customers want to experience longer trips in comfortable premium cars in addition to short city trips. Our goal is also to make mobility as sustainable and individual as possible. We are therefore very much looking forward to the six-month test phase.

Plans for cooperation in other cities
The transition from online to offline is taking place at various locations in Berlin. Katrin Adt Vice President Own Retail Europe Mercedes-Benz praises the integrative approach: "It fits in with our business philosophy that we, as the Mercedes-Benz Berlin branch, are the first to try out this new approach. After all, it is our claim to personally welcome the customers who discover us online in the real world and to offer them a great experience when handing over their cars".
The cooperation between the two mobility providers from Daimler AG is taking place in several steps, both technically and geographically. Once the pilot phase has been completed, the first step is to further develop the integration technically. The goal is to integrate Mercedes-Benz Rent vehicles directly into the SHARE NOW back-end system, to roll out a cooperation with Mercedes-Benz Rent in other cities in Germany, and to start adding more vehicle models.
