January 09, 2019 - For the first time, Daimler Financial Services is represented at what is probably the world's most exciting electronics industry show: the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, or CES. But why are we present as a service provider for mobility solutions at an event that exhibits the latest innovations in the fields of entertainment and consumer electronics?
Electronic innovations become mobile
The automobile of the future combines numerous CES topics: Artificial intelligence, faster data connections (5G), space-saving and high-resolution displays, voice control assistants, innovations in smartphones and wearables (mini computers). We focus on all these areas with our offerings and offer our customers the best personal solutions to get from A to B as conveniently and flexible as possible.
Autonomous driving in 2019 is much more than just an idea. Today, we are already developing safe and reliable systems and algorithms that will make smooth vehicle coordination possible and in the future automatically transport people to their desired destination. Efficient, reliable and time-saving. From mid-2019, together with Bosch, we will also be sending the first test vehicles into road traffic in San José, California. This pilot project will show how mobility services such as car sharing (car2go), ride hailing (mytaxi), and multimodal platforms (moovel) can be intelligently combined.
Mobility apps as daily companions
The mobility apps by Daimler Financial Services, car2go, moovel and mytaxi, are already helping 31 million users to re-experience mobility. To continuously improve our offerings and make access even easier for our customers, we engage in an intensive exchange with exhibitors and visitors at CES.
Smart City as a great concept for the future
Quieter, cleaner and greener! With our technologies and innovations we pursue the goal of a Smart City. A city that improves people's lives through efficiency, technological progress, environmentally-friendly resource management and social inclusion. Mobility in particular poses a major challenge in this context. This is best achieved together. Our Urban Mobility Team is working on additional mobility cooperations with cities and municipalities and is at their side as a competent contact partner. We want to play an active role with our offers, so that a big idea becomes reality.
Electrification of the automobile
The future is also electric. There are many indications that the electric drive will supplement the conventional combustion engine in the future. Daimler's electrification strategy clearly points in this direction and states that all Mercedes-Benz model series will be electrified. With the leasing and rental services offered by Daimler Financial Services, we are helping to drive this process forward and support our customers on their way to electric mobility.
We clearly focus on our users and the topic of customer experience. Our goal is not just to offer future-oriented transport options, but to offer mobility solutions that are individually designed for each customer. To ensure this, we are working on creating a holistic mobility eco-system. The CES is the perfect opportunity to present our innovations and ideas for the mobility of the future.
